Parish registers are the books kept by individual churches recording the events that have taken place in that particular church. In them are recorded the baptisms, confirmations, marriages and burials. In addition to the dates and names of those involved, information concerning the occupation and marital status of individuals may also be included. The layout of the register can vary from church to church. Some churches have all the information contained in one book, while others have separated the different events into different books.
